The Ascent of BYU Voice

Two talented BYU students named Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander had the idea to create a unique musical experience back in 1991. As a result, BYU Vocal Point—a nine-person acapella group—was formed and quickly gained popularity on campus.

They completely sold out their first live show, and since then, their accomplishments have only been better. In particular, they made their debut in the acapella world when they placed fifth in the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off. They most recently disclosed a contract with Decca Gold, the classical branch of Universal Music Group, in December 2018, demonstrating their exceptional abilities and dedication. One of the group members, Jason Bromley, states very modestly, “We are simply average college students performing remarkable accomplishments.”
