These Fifth Grade Boys Put On A Funny Act During Their School’s Talent Show

Attending school talent displays is a lovely way to see youngsters showcase their abilities, whether they are singing, dancing, or any other ability. While it is admirable that each contender demonstrates their skills in front of their classmates, some performances stand out above the others and exhibit a level of creativity that is beyond age-appropriate.

At the 2017 Elementary Talent Show, four Texas fifth graders from New Braunfels Christian Academy gave a special performance. The pupils first covered themselves in a black cloth in order to maintain the surprise element of their performance. The guys appeared to the audience as infants dressed in costumes, complete with little prosthetic legs that they moved with their arms, when the cloth was eventually pulled away. The audience burst out laughing at this unexpected sight, laying the groundwork for what was to come.

The audience reacted even more enthusiastically to the young men’s second performance, in which they danced to a range of popular songs while dressed in suits, showcasing their inventiveness and comedy. To start the act, they mimed and danced briskly to the popular chorus of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” The four dancers performed to Carl Douglas’s “Kung Fu Fighting,” which was the highlight of the show. The audience cheered and applauded as they performed their kung fu movements while wearing elegant suits.

Of all the acts they put on, this amusing bunch is not the only group of fifth graders to enthrall an audience at a talent contest; in fact, eight children from Porter Elementary did just that in 2014. The pupils used a blue plastic sheet as a makeshift pool to perform a synchronized swimming routine to classical music. The thrilled audience showered the eight students with praise and passionate cheers after their performance.

With more than 30 million views between the two movies, they demonstrate the wealth of imagination and skill that can be found in school talent shows. Maintaining an audience’s interest for even five minutes is a significant accomplishment, and not everyone possesses the necessary abilities. And yet, these young folks did it with ease.
