Sara Milliken thrilled herself and her supporters by taking home the top prize in the National American Miss pageant, marking a noteworthy accomplishment. Unfortunately, a surge of cyberbullying directed at her attractiveness quickly cast doubt on her victory.

Following her victory in the Miss Alabama pageant, Milliken faced harsh criticism from internet trolls who called her a “embarrassment” and “unhealthy.” Despite these offensive remarks, Milliken is pushing body acceptance and positivity.

According to Milliken, “Texts on a screen have the ability to have a significant impact on people.” Although I have not personally experienced it, comments like these have the power to depress individuals. A few of the nasty remarks were cruel parallels to fast food characters and questions about her suitability for a beauty competition. Supporters of Milliken united to honor her inner beauty and strength in spite of the criticism. “Anyone with sensitivity and integrity can easily tell that you emanate beauty both inside and out,” said one of your supporters. Others agreed, praising her accomplishments and beneficial influence.

Milliken is unwavering in her training for the national finals in Florida around Thanksgiving, even in the face of scathing criticism. She admitted, “To be honest, it did effect me for a short while.” Even when they are shared online, words have the power to hurt. My goal has always been to share love, and this encounter has strengthened my resolve to do so.

After winning, Milliken was surprised by the huge support she received and quickly acquired thousands of new social media followers. Offers of clothes and cosmetics for the next stages of the competition have deluged her inbox. “Anybody can realize their dreams, regardless of body type or background,” Milliken declared. “The most memorable part of this trip has been getting to know so many amazing and successful women.”

Even after overcoming obstacles, Milliken emphasizes the value of compassion, noting that some people can find it difficult to ignore criticism. Her experience highlights the need for greater empathy and assistance for individuals impacted by cyberbullying, as she persistently promotes body positivity and self-acceptance.
