While on their first vacation abroad following their resignation from their royal positions, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and her daughter, Princess Lilibet, enjoyed a tender moment.
Meghan Markle is learning that there is a darker side to motherhood.
The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry posted a sweet conversation they had with their 2-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, while they were visiting children at the Lightway Academy during their three-day trip to Nigeria that began on May 10.
“Our daughter, Lili, is way smaller than all of you,” Meghan reportedly said to a kindergarten class, according to People. It’s almost her third birthday. She could only see my eyes’ reflection when she gazed at me a few weeks ago. She proceeded to say, “Mama, I recognize myself in you.”
Since she was being so straightforward, the 42-year-old admitted it. However, I understood those words in a totally different way. “I can see myself in you, and you can see yourself in me,” I reflected in my mind.
Sitting next to Harry in the classroom, she said to the students, “As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”
During their visit, the pair, who are the parents of five-year-old Prince Archie, engaged in activities and singing and dancing sessions with the children. Meghan said, “That’s Lili’s favorite class,” the magazine said. “Perhaps it’s because of all the hopping.”
Meghan and Harry frequently post brief pictures of their family of four, despite the fact that they would rather live their private lives out of the public eye.
The Duke of Sussex stated, “The kids are doing great,” on Good Morning America in February. The kids are growing up, just like every kid does, and very quickly.
“They both have a terrific sense of humor that makes us laugh and helps us stay down to earth every day, just like kids usually do,” the 39-year-old said. “I am truly grateful to be a father.”
